About Scott

I'm a 3D animation/motion graphics designer with over twenty years of experience. On top of that, I'm also a fine art photographer - I've been shooting off and on for over 30 years now. My specialty is post-processing the image and making the photographs match what I see in my mind's eye.

For motion graphics, I use the Adobe Suite of products - Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator etc. I started using Photoshop in college with version 1! I use Autodesk Softimage for 3D animation.

My degree from Texas A&M is in journalism with a photograph specialty. Cameras and the process of producing photographs have changed dramatically over the last 20 years or so, from film and darkrooms to memory cards and computers. But the basic concepts are constant - look, shoot, develop, print/display.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Adobe Photoshop

I have been using Photoshop since version 1 came out in 1990. I have used it in a post-production video and animation environment since 1996. All of my photography goes into Photoshop for processing and enhancement.

Photography

I have a degree in Journalism with a specialty in photography from Texas A&M University, and have been shooting for well over 25 years. I focus mainly on fine art photography, shooting landscapes, cityscapes, still life, macro, etc. I have never tutored before, but it's time to start sharing what I've learned.

Soccer

I began playing soccer when I was 5 years old in 1973. I played organized youth soccer through high school and since have played club or league soccer. I retired from playing in 2010. I coach goalkeeping as that is the position I played for almost 30 years.
