I am the mother of 4 and really like to exercise both my body through running and my mind through reading and writing. I am licensed through DPI to teach English and Reading. I also have my K-8 licensure and am able to apply for my Administrative Reading Specialist License at any time. I have an M.A. in Reading and Language and extensive experience with teaching the writing process.
It is my goal to make all of my students love learning and want to be lifelong learners like myself. There is always something to learn and there is always a way to be successful with the learning process.
Besides my full time teaching job, I also am an interventionist at the Cardinal Stritch Reading Center. Before I work with a student, I assess his or her learning capabilities and needs in order to design an intervention plan that will work. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
