I am a PhD candidate studying large carnivore ecology and conservation at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; my research focuses on predator ecology, population modelling and Bayesian statistical methodology. In addition to having worked as an online tutor for the GRE, I have extensive experience as a teaching assistant while in the PhD program. I have taught both ecology and basic biology undergraduate courses. I have been lucky enough to receive strong reviews from both students and supervisors as a teaching assistant and I have received two accolades for my performance as a teaching assistant: The William C. Burns & Lemuel A. Fraser Teaching Enrichment Scholarship in 2018, and a student nomination as an Honored Instructor in 2019. I have a broad background in both biological engineering and biology, having received dual bachelor's degrees in those subjects from Cornell University in 2016.

I have really enjoyed my experiences teaching, far more so than I anticipated. Not only do you get to know new students with varied, exciting interests, but the results of good teaching are very tangible and apparent over the tenure of the coursework. I look forward to encouraging student success, and to that end I am happy to receive and incorporate both student and parent feedback and suggestions.

I have a strong background in math through both my bioengineering and ecology studies at both Cornell University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have studied math and statistics through multivariable calculus, nonlinear dynamics, Bayesian statistics and stochastic processes.

I have had the pleasure of tutoring GRE math previously, on which I scored a 168 out of a possible 170.

The entirety of my graduate teaching experience revolves around topics in biology (from cell biology to genetics) and ecology. Through my graduate training and research, I have a strong grasp on biological and ecological topics. Both of my accolades for teaching came as a result of my teaching in biology and ecology.

Ecology,

Ecology

I have a biology degree from Cornell University, where I took a great deal of coursework in EEB (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology). As a doctoral candidate in Environment and Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I study large carnivores, particularly Amur tiger predator ecology, and so I have a particular expertise in mammals of the Russian Far East. I have also served as a teaching assistant for general ecology for undergraduate students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Zoology,

Zoology

I have a biology degree from Cornell University, where I took a great deal of coursework in EEB (Ecology and Evolutionary Biology), Cornell's closest area of specialization to zoology. As a doctoral candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I study large carnivores, particularly Amur tiger predator ecology, and so I have a particular expertise in mammals of the Russian Far East. I have also served as a teaching assistant for general ecology for undergraduate students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
