I have helped many on this platform to achieve the results they wanted in their undergraduate courses, graduate programs, and professional lives. You will walk away from every session with a deeper fundamental understanding of the material that was covered. Whether it's working together to complete a homework assignment, long-term exam preparation, a small-business owner seeking advice and direction regarding a data analysis or technical problem, or a last minute cram session for your Business Stats final; I have worked with all different types of people with different goals and each one has walked away satisfied with the time we spent together. Please read on for a bit of background on me, and contact me to set up a session.

I began tutoring in highschool, assisting fellow highschool students with math courses ranging from Algebra to Calculus. In college I was a teaching assistant, with duties that included both individual and group tutoring, as well as grading homework assignments and working with professors to meet individual student needs. Throughout college I was employed to tutor students in subjects ranging from introductory to advanced physics (including quantum mechanics) and introductory mathematics, including college algebra, business statistics and calculus. After college I was employed by New Mexico State University for a semester, instructing two physics laboratory courses.
For the last few years I have been working on completing a Master's degree in Statistics, with a concentration in Machine Learning at Northern Illinois University. During this time I have worked as a graduate teaching assistant, instructing a range of introductory collegiate statistics courses. In addition, I was employed to work in the Statistical Assistance Center as a personal and small group tutor, guiding many students to improved grades through a better, more thorough understanding of the subject matter. I am driven by the desire to help people understand subjects and concepts that may be quite difficult for them; it is deeply satisfying to watch a student spend time on a difficult idea and then have that "Ah-hah!" moment of true clarity and understanding.

I earned a perfect score on the math section of the ACT and on the math/logical reasoning section of the GRE. B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics, M.S. in Statistics.

Please contact me with any specific questions, and to set up a lesson! I spend time preparing for each lesson beforehand to ensure a streamlined experience where you get the most for your money. You can learn anything If you put in the time and energy; I'll make sure you get back as much as you put in to the tutoring process!

Outstanding - a must mentor if you're ready to learn.

I welcome Carl's knowledge, ability to teach, and his ability to repeat concepts that I didn't understand. I feel confident about reviewing the lesson and the things he taught me. I also look forward to mentoring me through the whole course.

Highly knowledgeable and patient tutor

Carl was able to bring me up to speed with regards to fundamentals of statistics in one session. By the end of my second session, I was already capable of performing most of the work myself; I simply rely on him for reinforcement and clarification of theory. Anyone would benefit greatly from his assistance. Carl is also one of the nicest people one could meet!

Legit the only reason I am passing statistics

So I am the typical person who just isn’t good at math. My major requires statistics classes. Carl tutored me through two summer semesters and I went from getting 60’s on my first few test to 90’s in my last ones. He explains things in a way that make sense and also has a good sense or humor. If you need stats help he is your guy. 10/10 recommend

Extremely helpful! Best tutor I've ever had!

Carl was a great help to me in learning statistics. He made daunting topics become understandable and approachable in such a short amount of time. He was patient, funny, and somehow made statistics even enjoyable! 10/10 would recommend!!

Patient, understanding, and conscientious

I had a great first session with Carl and cannot recommend him enough. He kept the tutoring session organized and easy to follow. He gives a lot of examples, which made the statistics concepts a lot easier to grasp. He is also very personable and understanding, which eased my math anxiety and helped the hour-long tutoring session fly by!

Great teacher. Explains things in terms I understand.

Great teacher! Explains things in terms I understand. Starts “where I am”. We joked and had fun along the way. We celebrated our victories together!

Good!

Great job. He is very knowledgeable in the math department, and a nice guy. I enjoyed my lesson a lot, we went through a stats question and he had the formula ready to go and explained it thoroughly...
