Hello, my name is Jason.

This past February, I graduated with an M.S. in medical physics from Columbia University, and in May of 2014, I graduated summa cum laude (3.904 GPA overall) with a B.S. in Physics from East Stroudsburg University. Currently, I am a prospective medical physics PhD student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Jason came prepared and ready to start studying without wasting any time. He was patient and knowledgeable in his subject. After the session he even went so far as to provide strategies for passing the test.

After a semester of working with Jason I was able to achieve a B in my Business Calc class. After having to drop two previous Calc classes Jason helped me learn Calc and then succeed at it. My professor got extremely sick half way through the semester and Jason became my Calc teacher, and worked with me to learn the material that my professor failed to teach. Jason has a great sense of humor and we were able to make jokes and learn math. He was able to learn the formulas that my Business Calc class required with little to no prior knowledge about it. Jason was a great friend and worked with me and was always on time and professional, he would do an awesome job with anyone that willing to learn.

Jason is a very patient tutor. He is able to figure out where the student needs help before he continues on to another problem.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. Perhaps most noteworthy, I have successfully helped students learn to solve linear, 1st order differential equations, 2nd order, homogeneous differential equations, and 2nd order, non-homogeneous differential equations utilizing methods such as: The separation of variables, Bernouli's principle, the method of undetermined coefficients, the method of variation of parameters, the employment of laplace transforms, and the implementation of the characteristic equation. I have also assisted students in mastering the comprehension and utilization of both eigenvalues and eigenvectors in order to successfully solve systems of differential equations.

Perhaps most noteworthy, I have successfully helped students master the fundamentals of parallel lines, the calculation of areas, perimeters, and volumes germane to triangles, circles, and various parallelograms, angles in degrees and radians, polygons, symmetry in reflection, rotation, and translation, the unit circle, parabolas, the classifications and definitions of triangles, and much, much more.

I have helped numerous students raise their scores significantly on both the math and verbal sections of the Revised GRE.

Perhaps most noteworthy, I have successfully helped students master the fundamentals of classical Newtonian mechanics (including 2D and 3D kinematics, Newton's three laws of motion, the conservation of energy, the conservation of momentum, fluid statics, friction, circular motion,, and rotational kinematics and dynamics), classical electromagnetic theory (including coulomb's law, Gauss's law, capacitance, conductors, electric field calculations, electric field calculations in dielectrics, electric dipoles, magnetic field calculations, magnetic field calculations in materials, the law of Biot and Savart, Ampere's law, ferromagnetism, paramagnetism, diamagetism, Maxwell's equations, electromagnetic waves, the wave equation, plane waves, and polarization), optics, thermodynamics (the application of the three basic laws), ideal gases, statistical mechanics, atomic physics, and introductory quantum mechanics (including the application of the schrodinger equation to simple systems such as a particle in a box, the infinite square well, the finite square well, and the hydrogen atom).

I have helped students master the fundamentals of pre-algebra including: Absolute value, Cartesian coordinates, the associative, cumulative, and distributive properties, factorials, fractions, integers, equations of lines and polynomials, and rational/irrational numbers.

I have helped students master the fundamentals of conic sections, exponents, logarithms, functions, inverse functions, vectors, complex numbers, imaginary numbers, parametric equations, polar coordinates, spherical coordinates, and trigonometric functions.

I have helped three different students achieve a perfect score of 800 on BOTH the regular SAT mathematics section as well as the SAT 2 Math subject test.
