I am Illinois certified middle school math teacher at Morgan Park Academy, a private school on the south side of Chicago. I love teaching young people not only the step by step processes of solving math problems, but also the concepts behind these processes. I'm passionate about what I do and live for those a-ha moments with my students. Seeing a student finally understand a difficult concept and develop confidence in their abilities is a thrill that I always look forward to.

Peter is very patient with our 5th grade son, Alex. In the 2 months he has been helping Alex, we can see that Alex is more confident in math and now looks forward to math rather than dreads it. Peter gives us great feedback on how Alex is doing and is very flexible with regards to scheduling.
Peter has been assisting our student, a senior in high school, with a review of the basics in math for nearly three months now. Our student loves his time with Peter who is patient and nonjudgmental when it comes to our student's struggles. Our student looks forward to his lessons with Peter and has come to look up to his tutor. We are grateful for his help and feedback.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
