About Jonathan

Students/Parents:

Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. I have multiple years of experience tutoring students in advanced math courses. I have over 3,000 educational resources covering everything from Calculus and Physics to Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and beyond via WeSolveThem. I have written and published various texts designed to assist college students with preparation and follow through for college level math courses.

I have been doing calculus for years and have tutored hundreds of students all over the country in the same courses and none of them are ever on the same page with material. I know more about what is going to be taught than the teachers that are teaching the course do. Also, I have tutored students in Calculus I, II and III from just about every community college, high school and university in the Dallas/Austin area. I have thousands of hours and over 5-years of experience with the full layout of the curriculum.

Usual sessions will consist of going over and finishing up homework assignments for the week. I generally work most problems in great detail so the student can fully understand the material and then I post the solutions online via my website so the student may reference the material from anywhere at anytime.

You may ask yourself why you would choose me over another tutor: I have dedicated my life to mathematics, physics and teaching and do not take it lightly. I am extremely precise and attentive to notations, proper solutions and how your teacher will present information and require information. I also make myself available via text messaging and email for additional assistance outside of sessions.

Whether you need to master the subject or just pass the course, I am the best tutor in the area. I am young and have been through all the "modern" courses and tutored hundreds of students through the same so I understand how it feels, when it comes to the material and process.

On another note, I am also fun, patient and a pleasant person to spend a few hours a week doing math with. To me math is like football or going to the movies and I love to help people understand it better. I tutor with humility, compassion and a sense of humor.

Perks:

I extend my services outside of sessions at no charge via text/email for those moments when you need a little extra help.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Calculus

I have multiple years of experience working through hundreds of different levels and variations of Calculus courses at the college level ranging from basic business calculus courses to advanced engineering. I have written and published a few preparatory books, guides and crash courses on calculus and have produced thousands of educational videos via YouTube.

Calculus is the alphabet of science and algebra is the grammar. A Student must learn to write stories in order to succeed. In a Calculus and any other upper division course, the answer to a problem is not important, it is the solution and the solution must be written with the utmost precision. I can help prevent serious point-loss on exams due to incorrect mathematical grammar and show what material to focus on in order to gain maximum potential for higher grades. To date: I have solved approximately 50,000 calculus problems.

Differential Equations

Differential equations is not a difficult class, in fact if one knows how to do Calculus proficiently and understands how to "plug-and-chug" a formula DE is a breeze. I took this class over a 4 week summer course while working full time and passed it with flying colors.

As a tutor this course is the most simple to reiterate to students. I currently am working with a company on applying a transform of a first order Differential Equation with other functions involving the PID method an inputting the Laplace Transformation in order to complete a looping energy flow as a mathematical description as a second order Differential Equation.

If you are concerned about this class, you should not be. As long as your Calculus is good this class will be a breeze. I can show you how easy it is.

Linear Algebra

I have over two years of Linear Algebra experience ranging from business applications, engineering applications, and physics applications, and have created youtube videos geared towards tutoring the subject.

I have helped many students at the University of Dallas take their grades in Linear Algebra from D's, F's and worse to either a passing grade or A's. Linear Algebra is a relatively new subject so many professors just do not have the curriculum down. I have taken many Linear Algebra courses, from simple to advanced, and I have learned what is important to point out to beginners so that they do not get lost in the subject and can keep up with the course as it progresses.
