“**Great tutor! Patient, creative, encouraging!**”

Previously, I was a 6th grade teacher of students at risk of failing middle school. I also have much experience working with children and adults with autism. My specialty is the fact that I am able to really understand the material at hand and I am able to think of many different ways in which to teach the material. As we all know, everyone learns

*For each hour that I tutor, I have approximately one half hour of prep time. That prep time will be a $15.00 fee. Thank You*

Kim is a great tutor. I like how patient and good at listening she is. I think she is worth every dime we put into this tutoring. She encourages well with rewards systems and made math fun!! She is so creative!

I hope everyone will utilize her. She deserves recognition for her out of the box strategies.

Today was Kim's first official session with our 6th-grader, who has NVLD. Today's work reviewed graphical representations of data and different ways to measure area. She showed him an alternative way to multiply two digit numbers and he was motivated enough to do extra assignments.

Kim is a wonderful tutor because she's such a good teacher. A lot of tutors know their material, but haven't a clue how to teach kids, keep them engaged and on task. Kim knows how to do that.

Kim's lessons are fast and flexible so she can keep my 11-year old learning. She knows how to evaluate a student and find out what it is they need- targeting the lessons and keeping the kids interested.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

During my undergraduate education program at U.W. Madison, the teaching of literacy was excellent. I submitted many research papers which discussed and contrasted various phonetic type early language learning curriculi. In addition, through my past teaching experiences, I have taught phonics, phonemic awareness and literacy/writing/spelling/speaking skills to students.
