Lakeland College (writing and music)
I am a recent graduate of Lakeland College, WI, where I earned my BA in both writing and vocal performance & pedagogy. I spent my last year in school tutoring my peers in writing and music. The specific issue varied with every person, and I enjoyed working with every one of my tutees. It means a lot to me if I can enhance someone's understanding of something--even if it's something like explaining a comma splice or how a secondary dominant works.
As a part of my degree I had to teach voice lessons. In lieu of doing so, I took on two students from a local high school during solo ensemble season--a freshman and a senior. The youngest did very well for her first time singing solo in front of an audience and earned a first place medal. The older student was the only one in her school to go to state solo ensemble for voice. I'm proud of my students, and I would love to have the opportunity to help others succeed as well.
I have taken multiple English courses during my time at Lakeland, and I tutored my peers in English, grammar, and general writing.
I was at the top of my class for every music course. I've tutored students in general music theory, sight singing, aural skills, and music dictation. In addition to this, I can play piano and therefore accompany students, and I have experience teaching voice lessons.

I have earned a BA in vocal performance and pedagogy. Therefore, I have taken all the theory courses and their corresponding labs, earning As in almost all of them. My efforts were noticed my professor, who requested that I tutor music theory and music theory lab. I have one year's experience in tutoring music theory, one year's experience in teaching piano lessons, and one semester's worth of experience teaching voice lessons.
I have earned my degree in vocal performance and pedagogy. As a requirement for this degree, I have had to teach voice lessons. I taught two high school girls, a freshman and a senior, voice lessons over a semester. Both did very well in competition. In addition to this, as a former voice student myself, I am able to empathize and understand the plethora of difficulties that come along with teaching voice. It is my hope to take these experiences with me, and use them to help and teach others. I've also accumulated quite a bit of repertoire, as I've had to perform three recitals over the past three years.
