Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Career Development

Four reasons that make me competent to consult/tutor in the Subject Area of Career Development:

1) Master's Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, which included instruction on career counseling

2) Taught a course titled Planning Your Career and/or Major at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee

3) Work as a freelance consultant for high school and college students in the area of vocational development

4) Utilize knowledge of Career Development Theories (i.e. Holland's and Super's Theories) and vocational development techniques in the field of vocational psychology (i.e. assessments, RIASEC-based activities) during my time as both an instructor and consultant
