About Dallas

Hello everyone!

My name is Dallas and I am a Political Science professor at the university level. My area of expertise is International Relations, but I am broadly trained in a range of political issues, including American Government, Political Theory, and Environmental Politics. My research focuses on the intersection of global civil society and the global water crisis, and I am currently researching a range of issues that stem from the challenges of governing the global water-food-energy nexus.

When I am not doing research or teaching classes I like to spend as much time outdoors as possible. For most of my adult life I worked as a professional whitewater rafting guide in Colorado, Idaho, Arizona, West Virginia, and Honduras. I am also a decent kayaker, although my skills or maybe my courage seem to diminish as I grow older. In the summers I ride my mountain bike and hike as much as possible and I travel internationally every chance I get. Fortunately my wife also teaches, which means we often get the opportunity to travel together.

With over eight years of college-level teaching experience I know how important it is to have timely responses to your questions and considerate solutions for your problems. Although I will generally respond to your emails within an hour, please allow additional time on the weekends and also please keep in mind that old folks like me tend to go to bed early. This means I will usually take longer to get a response to requests submitted after 9pm.

Thanks you for viewing my profile and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Political Science

I have a PhD in Political Science with emphases in International Relations, Political Theory, and Environmental Politics. In addition, I have eight years of college-level teaching experience, including courses on American Government, International Relations, and Political Theory. Moreover, I routinely advise undergraduate and graduate students in these issue areas.
