Hello, I’m Ashley! I graduated with a Master’s degree in Education where I focused on Special Education. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education and am a licensed teacher for K-12 Special Education and 1-8 General Education in the state of WI. In college, I really enjoyed learning a variety of best practices when it comes to teaching students. My professors did an excellent job demonstrating these skills including being empathetic, kind, and willing to go the extra mile to help when I needed it. I bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach and do everything I can to make learning a positive experience for the students I interact with. I use lesson plans that are fun, engaging, and often project-based.
I have a year of tutoring experience with middle school and elementary school students. I also have 4 years of teaching experience inside the classroom where I have worked primarily in middle school and elementary school. I currently work with students that have individualized education plans where I often teach, re-teach and scaffold the material presented to them. I also help with differentiating the content and providing modifications and accommodations to help students be successful in school. The main area that I focus on is middle school Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. My experience in the classroom allows me the unique opportunity to have a variety of resources available for the students I tutor.
I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible, therefore I always welcome any resource or suggestions students or parents provide me. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
