I am a patient person who is very passionate about learning. I just recently graduated from St. Norbert College with a bachelor's in Science with a biomedical concentration and a minor in Psychology; I received Cum Laude honors while finishing my degree in three and a half years. I have previous experience tutoring at St. Norbert College, and I have extensive experience in the sciences. While tutoring biology, chemistry, psychology, and other courses, I had the exceptional opportunity to do cancer research and present at the AACR conference. I was able to convey my research findings with other science-minded people and learned a great deal about how to best share my learning experiences and results. I truly enjoy working with people and feel as though I could offer a lot to students that were struggling or wanted a firmer grasp on specific concepts in academia.

I like to take a direct approach while tutoring students. What this means is that I like to present the material in a manageable way and bridge the gap between new material and previously learned material; I have found that this makes the learning process a lot more concise and conducive and there is an overall higher level of learning that occurs. Creating real life examples utilizing the concepts taught in classes also gives each lesson a more concrete feel. I would love the opportunity to share my knowledge and skills with anyone that could benefit, and being an easy person to get along with, I think it would be easy to build strong tutor/student relationships that could only result in a stronger learning environment.

Study Skills

Study skills are important to excel in school, especially college, so I think my completion of my 4 year degree in 3.5 years points toward my ability to study effectively to succeed in the classes I took. I made study guides to study off of while in school and organized my notes to be most beneficial to me as I studied continuously for my exams. Study skills differ from subject to subject, but there are underlying themes that can be learned to set students up for success, and I would enjoy to share my tips to students as they learn and study.

Genetics,

Genetics

Genetics was one of my passions while in college. I truly enjoyed the subject matter and hold a very tight understanding of the intricate details of this class. I helped explain key concepts to students struggling and was able to further apply my understanding of genetics while taking cancer courses at SNC.
Organic Chemistry,

Organic Chemistry

I took a full year of organic chemistry as a part of my biology degree from St. Norbert College. I excelled at the subject matter and found that I really enjoyed learning about the mechanisms of organic chemistry. I feel confident that I would be able to share my joy of this subject with others and would tutor using models and diagrams like I was taught at SNC.
Pharmacology,

Pharmacology

I have attended Bellin College as a part of their accelerated 15 months program. This meant that I was a part of their very vigorous pharmacology curriculum, and I excelled, scoring high on all exams and assessments. I also have a very long history in pharmaceuticals as I was a pharmaceutical rep. I enjoy this subject matter and have served as a resource for my peers.

Patient tutor for struggling student

Niki covered atomic structure and some of the basic math for chemical combinations. We are trying to work out a regular weekly schedule.

Great organic chemistry tutor

Niki was great! She knew her stuff! I highly recommend her. She is very nice and sincere. She was well-prepared and easy to talk to and get along with.

Excellent Experience

Niki was a great fit for my son. He was lost in Geometry. We decided to get him a tutor and after reading reviews, we decided to give Niki a try. I am soooo glad we did. She was thoroughly prepared and quickly understood why he was confused and how to help him. I wish we could hire Niki for his teacher! Niki is a great tutor and we will continue to work with her in his future math and science classes.

Wonderful Tutor!

I cannot even describe what an amazing experience it has been to work with Nicole. I have heard so many horror stories about biochemistry and how people rarely pass the class, so I knew I needed to reach out for help. Of course, she was excited and ambitious to help. I told Nicole I needed a B in the class to get accepted to my program of choice and she told me I would earn an A. That is exactly what I did. Every session with Nicole I learned a great amount of information, new study habits, and even had fun doing it. Her free spirit and energy made it easier and more comfortable to learn and I am so lucky to have found her. I look forward to working with her for some of my other science courses down the road.

Brilliant

I needed help with an Intro to Biology course and have only met with Niki twice. But each time I walked away knowing a great deal more than when I walked in. She is very patient and has a great attitude. I connected well with her methods of teaching (real world applications, diagrams, and over all explanations). I provided her with the material and questions I had and she was able to help answer all of them. If you are worried about the price you should take this into consideration, I have met with three other less expensive tutors (again I provided them with the material and my questions) and each time they were less prepared and less effective as Niki was. If you're still on the fence just give her one chance, you will not regret it. I have a test in a few days and I feel twice as confident this time. All thanks to Niki.

Down to earth

Incredibly patient and great to work with. Is willing to work with any teaching style that best fits you. Very caring and helpful. Definitely recommend her to anyone in need of some help!

Personable and engaging

Our 16-year-old son had his first lesson with "Niki" and enjoyed her relaxed and communicative style of tutoring. It made him feel especially at ease. My first impression of her was that she was very warm, confident and engaging. Together with her solid knowledge base, it was the best of both worlds and I knew she was a good fit for us, on every level.
