I am an aspiring Medical Doctor who studied medicine at American University of Antigua. I will now be starting my clinical rotations at Richmond University Medical Center RUMC, NY. While in medical school I was a Lead TA and taught weekly sessions comprised of 10-15 students on every basic sciences topic learned throughout the first 2 years of med school. As a Tutor/TA I enjoy not only creating my own lesson plans but also sharing with students different techniques for learning. Thus allowing students to leave behind old habits such as: highlighting and rereading material.

I have taught myself how to apply biochemistry and physiology of the body systems in a way that resonates with students beyond pure memorization for an exam. For example, if I were to teach a topic on Beta Oxidation of Fatty Acids I would explain how you can use this biochemical process to maintain your energy levels on an empty stomach during an early morning workout.

Being a lead TA at my Medical School and teaching lessons comprised of 10-15 students per session for the last 2 years has allowed me to go beyond memorization and simply reciting information that students could have obtained themselves straight into applying those concepts.

Besides having a passion for studying medicine I also have a passion for “learning how to learn”. In my free time I read psychology research, books like “make it stick” and applying these study concepts of “how exactly it is that students learn”. I do so in a format students can understand, accept and move on from old habits such as simply rereading their notes. The concepts I have learned have helped me grow from an average student in high school and undergrad to making the Deans Honor Roll at my Medical School.

I am an 8x NCAA All-American and 3x National Champion in the Decathlon. I dedicated 4 years of my life to practicing each of the 10 events that comprise the Decathlon for 4-6 hours a day. I enjoy sharing what I did to achieve the success that I did as I was once the person asking all of the questions.

If you are a student who wants to learn how to apply the topics you are learning in a more meaningful manner that will allow you to recall information at any moment you need to I strongly believe I am the right tutor for you. I will not only tutor topics you are struggling with but I will also share with you different strategies on the topic of “learning how to learn” so you can apply these concepts to your own studies allowing you to excel beyond what you ever thought imaginable.

Track & Field

I am an 8x NCAA ALL-American and a 3x NCAA Division III Decathlon Track & Field National Champion. I competed for the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire from 2012-2015. I was able to make it to Nationals all 4 years that I had competed within the NCAA. I spent anywhere from 4-6 hours a day mastering each and every one of the 10 events within the Decathlon. I enjoy sharing my experiences as well tips and tricks for each event plus training tips in general that may or may not relate specifically to the Decathlon. For example, implementing training programs I used that others can use if they locate a track in their area.

I completed my 2 years of Basic Sciences at American University of Antigua: College of Medicine. I was a Lead TA/Tutor for 2 years where I conducted small group sessions comprised anywhere from 10-40 students in a small classroom. I also had one-on-one Tutor sessions in which I helped students understand various topics taught throughout the first 2 years of medical school. I passed the USMLE step 1 exam with a score 240.
