I have a Bachelor Degree with Honors in English literature, with a minor in French. I later attended graduate school. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Puget Sound in 1982 and my graduate education from Fuller Seminary. After college I developed an interest in math and chemistry, and had a level of math classes from Yakima Valley Community College. I have also had STEM classes from Berkeley and MIT, with the Berkeley Class Miller's "Physics for Future Presidents" and the MIT class Strang's famous Calculus Class. To prepare myself of math tutoring I took the Compass Math Test for Washington State in 2014, and received a 99 score on algebra and 86 on college algebra. I also worked at the Yakima School District tutoring third-fifth graders in reading and math skills in the 1998-99 school year. I have tutored high school, college and elementary kids in phonics, languages, chemistry and math since the 1980s. I have also tutored Latin and New Testament Greek, have worked as an interpreter for the Yakima County Auditor, and was hired as a medical interpreter.
I am a published writer in comedy and science fiction in "Nova Science Fiction Magazine", as well as publication in Yakima newspapers like "The Yakima Business Report." I am currently working on two novels, one with a science fiction theme, and the other a historical romance. I attend Highland Community Church and am an active supporter of Highland High School sports. I have worked in the children's ministry in my church and have been a member of the Tieton Volunteer Fire Department and Theta Chi Fraternity. My educational credits include one quarter towards certification endorsement in English, and I have 10 years tutoring experience if you include my volunteer helping my fellow college students. My family has lived in the Yakima Valley for 80 years, and I am familiar with almost all aspects of Yakima culture. I am fluent in conversational Spanish, so I can communicate with our Hispanic community as well.

Thanks for a great session! I was able to improve on the way I think of math. Howard brought material with him to help me relate better to the math in my book. I appreciate his style.Randy, 1 lesson with Howard
