My name is Mrs. Nancy A. I have taught in the Battle Ground School District for 25 years. I have a BA in Elementary Education from Washington State University. I also have a secondary degree in Early Childhood Development from WSU. I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grades during my time in the district. I love teaching children and helping them reach their best potential. I have worked one-on-one with students over the past 25 years and I believe I have made a difference. I teach with skill, humor and dedication to make children want to learn. A good teacher can make learning happen easily. I would love to work with your child and you will see them blossom. I am very organized and I teach both as a whole group, as well as in small ability groups. I test to see where each child is academically, and then teach to their individual needs. I monitor my students closely for progress and where I need to reteach certain skills. I have been recognized in the District on 3 occasions for Outstanding Teaching. I have taught Parenting classes in the District for many years. Good parenting means well adjusted children.
I also earned a Master's Degree in Reading, Art and Child Development from Lewis and Clark University. I then continued to take 90 additional hours of courses to stay current on classroom management, testing and updated new materials available for working with students. I am highly qualified and excel in working with young students.
I would love to have the opportunity to help your child learn. Hello,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
