About Frank

Although I have never tutored for money before, I tutored friends and family in Civil Engineering, Math, and History classes throughout high school and college. I enjoyed helping those around me and watching them succeed. I received A's in all Civil Engineering and Math classes. I understand the analysis process of the different topics and look forward to teaching methods and tips in correctly solving problems.

I studied and received A to A+s in Calculus I, II, and III at the United States Military Academy (West Point). Calculus served as a foundation for Civil Engineering problem solving, which I studied in college.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at the United States Military Academy. I was an honor graduate within the Civil Mechanical Engineering Department with a 3.8 GPA. I elected to take additional courses focusing Structural Engineering. I often tutored my friends and peers on the different problem solving methods. This not only helped those around me, but helped me refine my teaching skills. I have passed the Fundamentals Engineering in Civil Engineering and will soon apply to graduate school for Structural Engineering.

American History has always been a favorite subject of mine. I have enrolled in several elective college history classes in order to expand my knowledge and understanding of our nation's past. I continue to learn when I help others understand history and its effects on today.

Baseball is America's past time and I enjoy playing and watching baseball anytime I have the chance. I played baseball for fourteen years from five to nineteen years old. I started all four years in high school baseball at second and the outfield. I was recruited by Clarkson University as an Outfielder. I trained with a batting coach for years and understand the fundamentals that make a successful hitter. In order to become a successful baseball player, you need to work hard at the fundamentals of baseball. I can help reinforce those fundamentals through hitting and fielding drills.

Students learn in many different ways and oftentimes an outside source can help them approach a problem in a different way that makes them successful. As a tutor I can provide my experience and problem solving techniques that helped me succeed throughout high school and college. I have refined my problem solving processes in order to make me efficient and successful in the Civil Engineering, Math, and History departments. I want to pass on what I have learned from others in order to make new students successful in their classes.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
