University of Washington (Civil Engineering)
My name is Evgeny and I enjoy teaching and helping students succeed. My goal is to help students of all ages understand the concepts of math and science. In 2011 I graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelors Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Prior to attending the University of Washington, I graduated from Tacoma Community College with an Associates of Sciences Degree in Civil Engineering.
I have a wealth of experience tutoring math and science. Over the past 5 years I have tutored subjects ranging from basic arithmetic to calculus, as well as physics, and chemistry. I have worked at the Math Advising Resource Center at Tacoma Community College and at the Physics - Math Learning Center in St. Petersburg, Russia. I helped students solve chemistry, physics and math problems, explained additional materials, and I have assisted students to prepare for tests and exams. I have experience giving individual lessons and have also worked with groups of 6 to 8 students. Currently, I am working at the Veterans Rehabilitation Center as a math tutor. I can also teach engineering sciences such as statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials. I am patient and knowledgeable about what I teach. I am excited to offer my help and see others succeed.
In addition, I am native Russian speaker who has lived in Russia for 16 years. I speak, write and read fluently in Russian. Therefore, I am happy to help anyone who is studying Russian and needs assistance with grammar, speaking, pronunciation, Russian literature and history.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
