I have been a teacher for 9 years and have taught in vastly different schools, from behavioral residential treatment centers, inner city public schools, international schools and a charter school. I love teaching students as I can see and help encourage their growth, passions, and investment in their future. Tutoring allows me to personalize educational experiences with each student, where we can develop a more personal relationship that will naturally improve the experience for us both. I have specialized in working with at-risk youth but have also worked with students from diverse backgrounds.
I have taught English for 8 of those years, including remedial English, ESL, ACT and SAT Prep, as well as IB curriculum. I have also taught social studies/history for 6 years for both high school and middle school including ancient civilizations, US History, and the History of Sustainability. Recently, I have been teaching classes aligned with sustainability such as Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Hydroponic Gardening.
I am eager to meet students and help them feel more confident in their abilities and more confident in their pursuit of knowledge. I love helping students meet their goals, achieve their dreams and recognize their full potential.
