I am currently a Doctorate Student and a home-schooling mom. I have been home-schooling since 2005 and have taught all levels and subjects, pre-school through 12th grade. I personally have 2 children with ADHD, 1 child with ADD, 2 children with severe health issues and 1 child with Dyslexia.
I have earned my Bachelor's in K-8 Education and my Master's in Education. As a classroom teacher, I taught in several areas. I taught 7th grade Reading, Language Arts and P.E. I taught 8th grade Language Arts and U.S. History. I taught 5th and 6th grade contained classrooms. I have experienced great success with children that most teachers have "given up on". I have a clear understanding of the core curriculum standards that the State of Washington is moving toward. I am able to help children study and prepare for the Smarter Balance test, and I am confident that I am able to help enhance your child's confidence in the subjects he or she is struggling in. I have several techniques that are extremely successful.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
