I am a chemical engineer who has almost 20 years of experience designing and commissioning chemical plants all over the world. I have become experienced in teaching operators for these plants who have a minimal use of English. Most new operators have little experience with using computers to control large equipment systems.

As a Project Manager for an international company, I have developed a high degree of patience with those who need to become useful to their organization in the quickest time possible.

Most of my teaching abilities originated with my own children who were quite successful in their schooling.

Math and calculus are a main focus of my occupation. I also taught my son algebra and pre-calc when he was in grade school.

I use chemistry in my job: a formula can be used to design a full scale chemical plant or process.

I use Microsoft Office every day.

Prior to my major in Chemical Engineering, I was a music major at University of Nevada (Reno). I've performed concertos on the piano with orchestras, performed in orchestras on my violin and was one of the founding members of the Nevada Opera Guild (baritone).

Now that my children are grown, I miss the challenge and rewards of teaching young enthusiastic minds.

My mother was a music teacher for the Washoe County school district (re: Reno, NV) and taught violin privately. I started violin when I was 6 years old and have played many years in orchestras and even joined the Reno Musicians Union for a couple of years before going to Willamette University on a music (piano) scholarship. I changed my major from music to chemistry for better career and job options. Since college, I've played duets with my wife and started my daughter who recently graduated with a degree in violin performance.
