Whether you're just starting out with programming or looking to dive deeper into Computer Science fundamentals, I'd love to work with you. I primarily enjoy 1 on 1 tutoring as it feels more like a conversation and in my opinion, is more engaging for both parties. I'm definitely open to smaller group session as well though.

If you have specific areas you'd like tutoring in, I'd love to develop a plan together. If you're not sure where you need help (how do you know what you don't know?), I'm also open to spending some time together assessing and developing some goals that we can build on top of.

I love teaching in many different styles and it will differ primarily based on the student as well as the subject being taught. For example, I think it's more important for a beginner programmer to get hands on and start coding right away together. Whereas a college student focusing on data structures & algorithms, may be a split between theory and implementation. Of course, these are not hard and fast rules. I believe that every student has a unique learning style and the plan should adjust accordingly based on feedback and results.

I am a Software Engineer at Amazon and have ~3 years of professional experience. I am primarily a backend engineer. I've worked in multiple languages including Java, Python, and Kotlin. I received a B.S. in Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine.

I played four years of and was captain of Varsity tennis in high school and casually in a University college club. I've played casually post-college. I'm able to teach new players who are just learning the game.

Feel free to reach out if you're interested in learning more about computer science and software engineering.

Very Knowledgeable, Responsive, and An Overall Amazing Tutor! Highly Recommend!

Dennis is AWESOME! Will help you with things, especially if they're short notice. He would explain things VERY well (using analogies as examples really help!) and is knowledgeable in data structures and algorithms. Very patient as well and makes sure you get what you need done in a sufficient time manner. Friendly and kind enough to work with as well. Highly recommend him!
