Hi, I'm Jason!

I'm a former Professor from Williams College, one of the "mini-Ivies" (along with Amherst and Wesleyan), in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Williams is the top-ranked liberal arts college in the US, according to US News & World Report.

I have two PhDs in the Social Sciences and Humanities and I was the Managing Editor for the Johns Hopkins University Press journal Theory & Event for nearly a decade. I've been helping students achieve and exceed their goals in reading, writing, editing, and tests since 1999--over twenty years.

During that period, I've been proud to help my students move onto Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, and Stanford, amongst other colleges and universities. If you work with me, I will not rest until you've at a minimum, accomplished what you sought to. However, I will also help you understand additional possibilities you may not have considered, that you are suited for.

While I was a student, I found that regardless of the topics I was studying, it was always the tutors and professors who linked my existing interests with new fields and threads I hadn’t considered, who most successfully made the subjects relevant to me. These educators were student-centered and always willing to engage as extensively as I needed, using relatable examples that made even the most complicated topics understandable.

Today, I approach tutoring in the same way, starting my lessons with a news item, a recent film, or other example, through which to teach the broader material we are engaging. I always tailor my approach to the individual student’s needs, emphasizing comprehension, creativity, and other skills to ensure your academic success.

Over the course of the past decade, I have taught at a range of public and private colleges and universities in Hawaii, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Washington, while also teaching for two years at an international university in Swiss Alps! I’ve taught both undergraduate and graduate students in Political Science, Communications, English, Sociology, History, Libera

extremely helpful!

I reached out to Jason for help with my final paper in my race and ethnicity class looking for a sense of direction because I felt stuck. I was not expecting the level of help I received, I really think this is one of the best papers I’ve ever submitted. His help has helped me to feel confident finishing this semester, will definitely reach out again for any future concerns with school work.

Very Dedicated and Helpful Tutor

Jason was very knowledgeable and was able to help with my research during our session together. He was able to bring other fields like political theory into philosophy (what I needed help with) which enhanced our session. I noticed that Jason did prepare beforehand and did his best to answer my questions. Overall, my tutoring session with Jason was very positive.
