Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am an Elementary Teacher, therefore I have to know how to do the math to teach it. I have always excelled in math which makes teaching it a lot if fun. I have my Masters in Elementary Education and I received highly qualified status in math from Washington State on their WEST-E test.

Algebra and the use of letters in math has always fascinated me. I like to play around with the value of the letter to see how it changes the outcome. I am qualified because I have taught these skills in the classroom and I personally find this type of math fun. I have participated in Math tournaments where students had to work on math above their level and my knowledge and experience in prealgebra allowed them to be successful.
