My music is not your usual fare... I'm a classically trained pianist and composer, though ventured into Electronica, thus I approach music from that perspective. I tell stories with music: dramatic, melancholic, adventurous. My compositions tend to be longer and ask a bit more of the listener. We all survive in this rapidly paced culture of instant acquisition. I personally don't follow that mind frame. Slow down, take a moment and relax, savor the sounds, "it's the flavor that holds the memory."
I currently run my own label and consulting firm (started in 2012). I have released 5 albums along with numerous remix work for artist all over the globe. I am comfortable composing in most styles and listen to a myriad of genres - though general American Pop is not one of them.
I meet singers, composers, lyricists, performers from all over - each with their own unique voice. With all that we go through in life, it can be difficult to hear our own voice and what we are trying to say musically. I assist musicians in honing their voice, understanding the different aspects of composition - placement of themes/sounds, impacts, when you've just put too much in one section, etc. All of this, I have gone through myself, and learning to be discerning and understanding how to censor your compositions, while not sacrificing your intentions, is not an easy feat. I myself work with this every time I begin a new piece.
Music is oxygen to me and is a part of every culture on this planet. From aural junk food to inciting revolutions, music is a most powerful human creation. We all listen to it, and there are those of us who create it. It is my desire to help guide you to understanding this creation.
I double majored with a degree in Music Composition and Stage Management. I have been studying piano and composition since I was 8 years old. I grew up all over the globe and am versed in World Music as well. I specialize in composition, songwriting, lyrics, music production, electronic music, creating your own sounds, honing your musical voice and helping all creators get out of their own way.
I am very open-minded. I have been exposed to numerous cultures and belief systems. I follow a belief that each of us is unique, with our own experiences, but a part of a grand picture. We all have different tastes in music and I don't discriminate (in any manner). I think outside the box, slightly existential, and encourage people to be unique. My music is not your usual fare... In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a degree from Cornish College in Seattle in Music Composition. I have been studying composition since about 8 years of age (though rudimentary at that age). I have released 5 full-length albums (iTunes, Beatport, etc) or original compositions.
