I am a former small businessman who has combined his practical business experienced with a scholarly study of economics/finance. I have an excellent ability to explain complicated concepts in economics and statistics to undergrads and high school students. I have strong history/political science knowledge. I'm also a skilled writer who can help students polish their written assignments.
In addition, I have tutored elementary school children whose native language was not English.
I have nearly four decades experience managing businesses in wide variety of industries. I combined that experience with a scholarly study of economics. I am in daily contact with professional economists who are affiliated with leading universities in the USA (several of whom are prominent in the profession). I'm considered an expert on network effects/path dependence, transportation and infrastructure repair. I have a strong knowledge of monetary policy and interest rates.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have several decades experience managing small business in a wide variety of industries. Familiar with all aspects: Accounting, inventory control, sales, operations, worker training, marketing.
Have taken over distressed/failing businesses and restructured them, as well as having built new businesses from the ground up. For an example of the latter, a specialty construction firm that invented novel ways to repair/rehab concrete using two component polyurethanes and fractured aggregates. Saving several states Departments of Transportation tens of millions of dollars by extending life of roadways and bridges.
