About Matt

I am a published poet and media scholar with 10+ years experience teaching writing and literature at a variety of community colleges and universities around the country. I love working one-on-one with students, helping them to better understand themselves as writers and thinkers. I am a firm believer in student-directed learning -- giving students the tools to read an evaluate their own writing in a way that aligns with their own purposes and ideas.

I am also a poet and have had work published in a variety of journals including Hotel Amerika, Otoliths, Filling Station, Cordite Poetry Review, and a handful of small press magazines.
