Seattle University (Civil Engineering)
The first time I realized my passion of teaching was when I worked at a Danish NGO called Educat where I was assigned to train Rwandan college students about entrepreneurship and leadership. This may sound a bit different from course tutoring but it made me realize how much joy and satisfaction I get when I help others learn new stuff. It also taught me better at communicating with people supporting them whenever they needed my help and going above and beyond to create social relationships with my students. It was more of making an impact in other people's lives and letting them see things with a new perspective. I loved it!
I chose to tutor young children (younger teens too) mainly because I have been a baby sitter and find so much joy in contributing to children's early education. I am a civil engineering student at Seattle University, and I am willing to provide support in math, reading, writing, grammar, and public speaker.
I hope to be your tutor!
I took many English classes when I came to Seattle U of Reading and Grammar classes and I believe that these classes taught me a lot; I realized many minor errors that I used to make like in my essays. I got the opportunity to become a better writer and reader, and I would so much love to provide the same support I received to anyone who needs it.
As for public speaking, I have been a public speaker for many years where I held leadership positions; for example high school student government, conferences, presentations that I made at school, and many more. I believe that I can be of great support to anyone who wants to improve their public speaking skills.
Helping young children learn how to write is one of my favorites. I lived with my three year old baby niece and there is nothing I enjoyed more like helping her learn how to speak, read, write. I am very familiar with math (any stage) and trust my self to be a good math teacher as I have had experience helping my cousins and friends.
I am a student which makes me a great source of help as I know how to work with other students. I am very happy to share the education I have with others. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to being your tutor. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
