I love working with students, especially through the writing and college application processes. After living on the East Coast for most of my life (where I was a college writing instructor, high school English teacher, and college counselor at a selective private school in Washington DC), I am excited to continue my education work in Seattle. I currently work as an English teacher at a private school in the Seattle area, where I teach World and American literature. My tutoring style is patient and focused; I aim to make the college application process fun!
My background and credentials are in education and creative writing: I have a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Arts, in Screenwriting; a Master of Arts from Rutgers University, in English Literature and Creative Writing ; a certificate in College Admissions from the Harvard Summer Institute for College Admissions; and a Master of Education from Columbia University-Teachers College, in Educational Leadership . I am a published short story writer and have helped many students in both improving their writing skills and being accepted to a wide variety of colleges and universities. I have worked as a college counselor at a private school in Washington DC for 3 years, as well as working with educational non-profits in a college counselor capacity.
