About Virginia

I have a unique background as a former archaeologist, business owner, substitute teacher, with an MA in International Relations.

I have traveled to over 25 countries and love experiencing new cultures and people. I was a substitute teacher in a high school for four years and enjoy getting back into mentoring kids and young adults.

I also have experience working with special needs for two years - specializing in Prader-Willi, autism, Down Syndrome, and have some limited sign language ability.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

American History

I have an BA in Political Science, and an MA in International Relations. I have been a successful substitute teacher on American history in high schools and have an avid interest in history as a whole.
