Hello, My name is Chris and I am currently a lead teacher at a school in Seattle. I love working with children and have been working in the educational field in various capacities for the past four years. In addition to my position as a teacher, I also do in home ABA tutoring for children with special needs, particularly those with Autism. I have worked with a wide range of ages, varying from 3 to 17. At the moment I am tutoring students on a variety of subjects including writing, language, and social development.
I received my B.A. in English from Tufts University with a concentration in Psychology. I personally scored in the top 1 percentile on both the Math and Reading portions of the SAT (before the writing part was added) and have experience SAT tutoring. Because I typically tutor students on a long term basis I understand the importance of making tutoring sessions fun and interesting. It is important to keep things interesting so that the student enjoys learning, rather than experiencing frustration when a subject does not come easily to them. I am easy to get along with and have worked successfully with a wide variety of individuals and personalities. I understand that every child learns differently and feel that those differences should be embraced. If you are trying to find the right fit for your child please don't hesitate to contact me. I would be happy to speak with you about your child's goals and needs. Hello, My name is Chris and I am currently a lead teacher at a school in Seattle. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
