In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I scored 12s and 13s on the MCAT when I took it (scoring in the the top percentile in the US). I attended medical school. I was a lead instructor at a local branch of nationally recognized tutoring center for 4 years, teaching the MCAT preparation course.
I graduated from the University of Washington with honors in Chemistry. I studied under Paul Hopkins, the long standing dean of the Department of Chemistry, one of the most distinguished organic chemists in the US. I have also assisted GRE and MCAT students with what they need to know for the chemistry subject tests and chemistry sections. I taught at Kaplan for 6 years.
I have Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry, Microbiology and Immunology. I studied Medicinal Chemistry (PhD) then medical school (Pathology) where the pharmacology section is quite extensive. I have a good grasp of chemical classes, pharmacokinetics, side effects, and drug delivery.
I have three Bachelor of Science degrees and a Masters and a Doctorate. In the course study and in my present work it is required that I present lectures and lead discussions at national and international meetings. I have also achieved monetary awards for best presentation on more than one occasion. When I worked at Kaplan, I also received advanced training on how to best convey ideas and structure lessons.
I have three Bachelor of Science degrees, a Masters, and a Doctoral degree in medicine. I know how to study and what works for specific areas of study. I have instructed at both the high school and university level, and enjoy teaching. I have also served as a lead instructor for Kaplan.
I have swam since an early age, and swam at the state level in high school. I completed at the national level in triathlons (best finish 11th overall in the US), and international races. I especially like working with children, and like to make swimming fun as it has been for me. Understanding body mechanics, and relating that to the children will make swimming second nature to them.
