Whether you want to boost your test scores, polish your lab reports, or improve your writing, I can help you meet your goals! My methods are fun and thorough, and you'll be surprised how much you learn!
I attended Reed College, nationally recognized as one of the most academically demanding schools in the country. Because of high performance in biology, I was hired as a biology tutor for the school's Academic Resource Center, and over three years I taught hundreds of students how to quickly absorb information, write clearly, and think critically.
I also have significant experience in both library and "bench" research, having completed a senior thesis and several National Science Foundation-funded research projects. I have presented my research orally and in papers, so whether writing or speaking, I can help you express you ideas more clearly and strongly.
After graduation, I applied to medical school. In the MCAT, I scored above the 90th percentile. If you or your student are planning on applying, I can give money-saving advice and teach strategies for the MCATS, and also proofread essays and personal statements.
I have since been accepted to medical school and am working on my MD, and can bring a useful perspective to any prospective pre-meds, as well as in-depth understanding of anatomy and the biological sciences.
I emphasize critical thinking and deep understanding as the basis for success--strengths that are useful for every subject and situation. Study with me, and you'll gain lasting improvements and lifelong skills! Whether you want to boost your test scores, polish your lab reports, or improve your writing, I can help you meet your goals! My methods are fun and thorough, and you'll be surprised how much you learn!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have excelled in the area of biology for a long time. In AP Biology I scored a 5, the highest possible score. During college, I was selected based on my high performance as a peer tutor and tutored biology for three years. Post-grad, I tutored high school biology students and elementary students in the sciences. I have since been accepted to medical school where I continue to hone my knowledge.
