My project is so better now that I worked with Liz. Liz is kind, patient, pleasant to be around,
professional and focused.
I gave Liz the highest rating possible and I appreciate her time and energy.
Liz carefully listened to my requests on our reappointment phone call and systematically addressed each and every project during our lesson. I felt more confident after our time together.
I would absolutely recommend Liz to anyone who is looking for a remarkable individual who is patient, knowledgeable, on time with projections for projects, and is extremely talented.
Liz met with me last minute for an important project. She was incredibly knowledgeable and patient. I would highly recommend her as a tutor because she is very talented and creative. I hope to work with her again soon.
Liz is a great tutor. Very patient and knowledgeable about the ins and out of In-Design. Great at assisting me, answering questions, trouble shooting. Easy to talk to. Would highly recommend her.
Very good start today. At present, working on files organization. She is experienced with Picasa. We will work on files first and then go on to other work from there.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked as a graphic designer for 10 years with InDesign as my main tool for creating books, reports, brochures, flyers, exhibits, posters, banners and digital presentations.
I have attended dozens of InDesign User Group meetings to keep up to speed with the latest advancements and to learn advanced and time saving techniques.
As an in-house graphic designer, and have been the in-house guru for all things InDesign - from troubleshooting with somewhat experienced users to helping the complete novice get set up and going.
Sometimes I even dream in InDesign.
Most of my years of experience in desktop publishing comes from working in Adobe's InDesign, but these skills are easily translated to Quark, MS Publisher, and even Word.
I can help you set up long documents and efficiently apply styles to the whole document for efficiency and consistency. My graphic design experience leans towards typography and print design, and I can show you the rules that makes your document look more readable, professional and well-designed.
I will also emphasize the need to think through to the final result -- how will this be printed and who is the final audience. I have helped many clients find suitable print options and self-publishing avenues.
I have owned and operated Macintosh computers since 2001, and am familiar with most models and Operating Systems (OS), core programs, and accessories.
I continue to attend Mac classes at the Apple store to keep up with the best ways to work with the newest OS.
I can help those new to the Mac how to orient to the new workspace, shortcuts to navigating the "windows," how to install programs and organize files.
I have helped with the production of many PowerPoint presentations for many professionals. I understand all of the basic to intermediate level tools thoroughly.
More importantly, I help to create a professional look to a presentation by sharing my best layout tips.
I am a digital and film photographer with a solid understanding of exposure, particularly for existing light situations. I have owned and worked with dozens of cameras and can help the newer photographer find the best way to work with their camera for their desired results.
Some areas that I would be most helpful in working one on one with a student would be improving exposures and understanding histograms, street/candid/event photography, nature photography, and film experimentations with toy and vintage cameras.
I lean towards artistic and journalistic photography, and I would not be much help with studio lights or models.
