Vicky is an excellent tutor. She's very patient and has a great sense of humor. I can't recommend her enough.
My son was struggling with French this past semester. Vicky has done a tremendous job with building his confidence and engaged his interest in the language. I'm very pleased with his progress thus far.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I studied 4 years of French in high school; studied French film theory and French literature at Harvard College during undergraduate career; spent 3 months (Feb 2013-May 2013) working in Paris; currently read French literature and listen to French radio for leisure. I look forward to teaching beginning to intermediate students who have a passion for conversation and an interest in modern French literature.
I have worked as an SAT and SAT II tutor with Ivy-Way SAT Prep, tutoring SAT Math, Reading, and Writing, as well as SAT II subjects. My students see a marked improvement of 100-200 points on the 800 point scale. During my high school years, I scored 800 on both SAT Math and SAT II Math. I teach general SAT strategy and believe in exercise-based methods -- after all, practice makes perfect!
