Hello, my name is Jeanette. I am a University of California, Fullerton Psychology graduate with a minor in Criminal Justice. I moved to Washington state in 2015. I was born and raised in California with two fluent Spanish speaking parents. My parents raised my siblings and I speaking only Spanish. Their goal was to immerse us in the Spanish culture and language. I managed to continues to practice my writing and reading all throughout high school. I managed to complete up to AP Spanish for Native Speakers. In college I continued to take Spanish courses around literature. Being bilingual has allowed me to use my abilities to translate and alleviate language barriers.
Back in California, I have volunteered and worked in diverse areas where different languages was a major part of my work. I volunteered and tutored children from Spanish speaking communities throughout after school programs. I also volunteered in early childhood education facilities where my role was to engage children through reading either in Spanish or English. I also held a job in behavior intervention with autistic children where I helped parents learn the proper techniques to maintain behavior. In Washington, I am a clinical case manager helping youth aging out of foster care into independent living.
I am interested in sharing my knowledge and help others reach their ability to learn and maintain Spanish through conversation, reading and writing. Being a Spanish native speaker makes me an exceptional tutor to those that need it.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
