My name is Joshua. I recently graduated college in upstate NY with a B.S. in Biology and premedical studies, and now I am at the University of Washington here in Seattle studying molecular biology. I love everything about biology and science. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in molecular biology. Science is amazing! My mind is always curious and wanting to know how things work in the natural world.
Through out college I tutored in general biology I and II, anatomy and physiology and microbiology. I also tutored and mentored at risk adolescents (ages 10-14) in middle school math and science.
I am open to tutoring students in various science related subjects. I tutor to the way in which students learn. If diagrams help you then that is what we'll do. If pictures help, then drawing things is what we will do. Whatever method enhances your learning is the way in which I tutor. My teaching style is very flexible. I just want to see that you succeed in what ever it is you want. That is the goal.
In my personal time I enjoy reading American Classic novels, music, tennis, baking bread from scratch, volunteering, running, and being outdoors. I am a person who is very open to criticism and change.
If you have any concerns about my abilities please let me know.
Thank you so much,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In college I completed 2 courses in genetics: BIO-405 01 Molecular Genetics (B+) and BIO-405L 01 Molecular Genetics - Lab, as well as BIO-319 10 Cell & Molecular Biology (B-) and BIO-207 10 Fundamentals of Genetics (B).
I also am published on a paper in PLOS genetics. I completed this research as a post bacc student in the PREP program at the University of Washington in Seattle.
