About Mae

I grew up in a bilingual country and studied in both French and Arabic.

Later in life after college I learned English, and I taught French and Arabic plus local customs to foreign hires in a middle eastern country. I also worked as a substitute teacher for students in elementary to high school.

I have traveled to more than 15 countries and learned their cultures and local customs.

I have a passion for languages and I'm limiting my private tutoring right now to adults. I use my own materials and make lesson plans according to the student, interest, age and language proficiency.

I live in Northgate - Seattle, and I prefer to tutor near my house, but I’m willing to make small trips if necessary.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Arabic

I am Moroccan and Arabic is my first language. My language tutoring experience is a harmonious blend of teaching, administrative, and business. In a way that I have taught Arabic and French for about 5 years in an international school in Morocco. Beside my administrative job, I was a language teacher for adults and a substitute teacher for Students from Elementary to High School.

I also got certified by an Arabic magazine in Communication and Editing skills and worked as a translator for more than three years with American medical clinics and the Immigration services.
I believe that the best way to learn Arabic is practice. And here I can help you.

During our tutoring sessions we will interact in Arabic as much as we can. We will first work on what you need and want to know in Arabic such as grammar and verbs, so that it will become a second nature for you. Also, we will work on proper pronunciation.

Additionally, if you are planning to move to or marry from an Arab country, I could also help you with a Cultural/Customs class.
