My name is Tim and I lived nearly ten years in Germany. I went to an American high school in Rheinland-Pfalz and an American college in Munich where I immersed myself in the German culture. I also attended a German language institute in Munich where I successfully completed the 2nd highest level.
I also worked for a German clothing wholesaler in Munich for nearly two years as an office manager and was able to perfect my verbal and written language skills. I was responsible to speak with customers on the phone and in written correspondence. In January 2014, I returned from spending 9 months in Berlin where I did tutoring in ESL to German speaking students.
Also, many of my friends were German and I was able to learn the language the way it is spoken by the general public. My German is nearly accent-free and my grammar is excellent. I would love to have the opportunity to share this language and culture with you that I love so dearly. My name is Tim and I lived nearly ten years in Germany. I am glad I selected Timothy to be my German tutor. I am an adult who aspires to learn and become fluent in German. I was looking for someone who not only has in-depth knowledge of the language, but can also teach it in a way that would help both my conversation and grammar skills. I found Timothy to be just that. In addition, I liked that his style of teaching/ tutoring is very flexible in that he adapts to your own learning style, abilities and needs. And his sense of humor definitely made my tutoring session very enjoyable! I highly recommend Timothy as a tutor.
Timothy is engaging and understanding of different levels of competency. Our first meeting was largely spent determining what areas I need to work on and I am fully confident that our time spent together will be productive and fun!
Tim has been great to work with! Very helpful for conversational practice. Tim also recommended a good supplemental text book for studying. Appreciate his patient demeanor. Thanks!
Tim had me speaking right away. He provided the perfect balance of creating a comfortable learning environment with just the right amount of challenge. I look forward to our next lesson.
Tim is patient when I mispronounce words and he is constructive when I articulate properly. He is always punctual and ready to teach.
It was nice a discussion. Having conversations is an effective way of improving your speaking and listening skills. Thank you for your explanation around Germany and Seattle.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I recently spent 9 months in Germany, of which approximately 3 of those I spent tutoring teenage German-speaking students English in a tutoring school. I enjoyed it immensely and was able to teach students mostly of Turkish heritage. I am patient and thoughtful and can easily tailor my lessons to your specific requirements.
My name is Tim and I just returned from Germany on 1/15/2014. I speak fluent German, nearly without accent and learned it from the beginning. My grammar and knowledge of daily conversational German is excellent. In Germany, I taught English to German-speaking students in a tutoring school and have experience tailoring lessons to meet the needs of the individuals. I am reliable and intelligent and many of the students I taught there told me they were sad to see me go. I would love to have the opportunity to discuss my qualifications and speak German with you if you also speak it.
