I currently run a boxing fitness program for people with Parkinson's that's been scientifically shown to slow or regress symptoms. I achieve success for my clients by using basics from the NASM-CPT program, in conjunction with Parkinson's-specific and neuroscience-based training principles. I continually educate myself, via workshops with fitness industry leaders and training programs on cutting-edge trends in fitness and nutrition, including high-intensity training, body-weight exercises, functional fitness, TRX and more. My own training in disciplines ranging from snowboarding to bouldering, martial arts, tango and yoga has given me hands-on knowledge about body mechanics and how cross-training in one sport can impact another: This experience is definitely beneficial in developing programs for students that engage them and meet their fitness goals. I have experience running outdoor bootcamps focused on bodyweight and high-intensity training as well as strength and cardio training in a gym environment, using machines, free weights, balance and stabilization equipment. Beyond my fitness training, I have been educating myself about how nutrition can impact health and fat loss, via studying for my Precision Nutrition certification and exploring the work of Metabolic Effect and Dr. Sara Gottfried to learn how hormonal shifts caused by diet and lifestyle impact fat loss.
