I have been teaching/tutoring English and ESL for 16 years because I love it. My students have ranged in age from 7-70 and have come from all continents. I especially enjoy helping young adults. From teaching conversation for Japanese foreign high school students in the Summer Intensive Program at the University of Washington, preparing learners for the SAT and TOEFL exams, and tutoring academic writing students at North Seattle Community College, I have received much joy from my young adult students.
I have helped adult and young adult learners at Literacy Source, North Seattle Community College, the University of Washington, and as a private tutor. I am currently tutoring at NSCC's Loft Writing Center and also working with two adults privately. Let's work together: it will be enjoyable and a learning experience for both of us.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
