Bio

I've been a math tutor for over 20 years, both on my own and for other companies. I've worked for Sylvan Learning Center, as well as Edmonds Community College. I'm very good with students with disabilities and learning challenges. I'm patient, and I can adjust my explanations to suit individual learning styles.

My favorite subject to tutor is Math. I love Algebra, and I typically tutor up through Pre-Calculus.

I have a B.A. in Mathematics, with a teaching minor in Physics. I am also an online student at Ashford University, working toward a Master's degree in Special Education.

Elementary Math students can be of any age. A student may be an adult or older student who needs help brushing up on forgotten math for a job or test, or because they are going back to school. Most students in this position remember more quickly then they think they are going to. I provide clear, concise explanations that make sense, so my students are able to understand and remember, not just memorize. If the student is in elementary school, I will offer alternate explanations and additional practice for the topics they are struggling with. Struggling students can be more successful than they often believe they can be.
