I have just recently been certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist(MOS) in Microsoft Word.
For over 15 years I have used Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint in my personal and professional life. In my work experience I have taught individuals and groups about how to use Microsoft Word and have created presentations in PowerPoint. I have used Outlook and supported people using Outlook. I have been around computers and using Microsoft DOS and Windows for over 15 years. I have the passion and patients to help individuals learn at their own pace.
A little about me....
I have been teaching and mentoring all my life. As I took on various leadership roles when I was younger and adult mentoring as I have gotten older, I have had the chance to be in a teaching role or able to mentor your adults and kids. Before I was married I was selected to teach a computer course at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia WA, This lasted two years before hiring on at Microsoft. At Microsoft, I was first a support engineer helping customers with issues related to Microsoft Office. I also volunteered to teach several seminars on using Microsoft Word. I then moved to managing a team of product support engineers in the support of Microsoft Office. When my kids were young, I joined our local cub pack and became a Den Leader where I mentored 8 cub scouts through the scouting program. I was also the Cub Scout Master where I was rewarded with leading a pack of 70 cub scouts.
I encourage you to send me a note and discuss with me what you would like to learn and what your timeline is for learning. Every person's learning style is different and I know that we can find a comfortable pace and style that fits you. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
