Very knowledgeable & patient.
I needed someone to help with speaking. I took Russian many years ago and can mostly read okay. My speaking is just terrible and I’m awful with recall. She was very patient with me. The whiteboard was convenient because words I was unable to say, I could write. I highly recommend Irina; I plan on using her for several months, at the very least. The Wyzant platform is easy as well.

Very gifted and patient teacher
This was my first real session with Irina. I had tried to pound the Russian alphabet and sounds into my 65 year old brain. Irina knew just how much to push me forward and was very patient. At the end of the lesson I remember feeling like my brain had just awakened from a 45 year long nap. It feels really good to be learning again. I feel very lucky to have such a talented teacher.

Amazing! I passed my exam!
Not only was Irina super pleasant to work with and I felt like I was having thoughtful conversations with a good friend each time we met, but she helped me reach my goal. My goal was to pass a Russian language fluency certification (Interagency Language Roundtable or ILR) which is a US federal government fluency rating and exam system. Irina developed a curriculum for me specifically to prepare me for this test and even did a few 'practice test' conversations. With only a handful of lessons and a limited amount of time, thanks to Irina's help, I passed the test and got the Level 3 fluency rating, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks Irina!!! I recommend everyone to work with her :)!
