I am an elementary school teacher with a love and passion for teaching and learning. I find great joy in helping my students reach their full potential and grasp a concept that has proven to be difficult for them. I believe that children are far more capable than most give them credit for, and my goal is to help them go above and beyond what they thought possible.
I have been teaching for the past four years, and have been involved with children for over ten years through volunteering. I have to ability to create a safe and comfortable environment that allows my students to thrive. In my first year of teaching, I was nominated for and won Teacher of the Week through local radio station STAR 101.5 and local news station KOMO 4. It was such an honor to be recognized for my teaching and the meaningful relationships I built. Each year, I strive to be better than the last, and I can guarantee that hard work and effort will be given to your child.
I received my Master in Teaching and specialize in Elementary Education. Whether your child needs help with phonics (letter recognition, sounding out, blending), math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals), reading (comprehension, fluency, answering questions, predictions, inferences), writing (organization, fluency, sentence structure, details), handwriting and cursive, to grammar (nouns, adjectives, verbs, antonyms, synonyms, contractions, etc.), I will be able to help your child get to grade level expectations or higher.
During the summer months, I have more open availability; however, during the school year I will be as flexible as possible to help meet the needs of your student and family.
I am really excited about the possibility of working with your student, and look forward to hearing from you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Writing is a passion of mine. Having been involved with journalism to getting a scholarship to a state school due to my writing, it is something I pride myself in. I have the tools to organize a paper, convey voice within a paper, as well as ability to persuade and teach through a paper.
