About Erik

Bio

I've been a professional actor for 18 years, working all over the country and in Europe. I moved to Seattle in 2011 after a decade in New York and Los Angeles. Since 2003 I've been working with actors of all ages and experience levels to develop their own inherent talent and work-ethic, focusing on audition material, scene study and character work. I studied character technique and improvisation with Anna Deavere Smith in New York and have played roles ranging from Hamlet and Rosalind to Wilbur the Pig. I taught acting, movement and stage combat at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, for four years and I continue to work professionally in Seattle and elsewhere while making my new home here in the Northwest!

I have BFA and MFA degrees in acting, plus nearly 20 years of professional acting experience. I've been on national television and featured in web series, feature films and commercials during that time. I write a twice-weekly column on Film History and pop culture. I host a twice-weekly podcast also dealing with Film and Television History.

I have BFA and MFA degrees in acting (both summa cum laude), and nearly 20 years of professional acting experience. I have worked onstage professionally in 20 states and three countries, having played roles as varied as Hamlet and Rosalind to Wilbur the Pig and even a talking six-foot ruby necklace. I spent 10 years acting on stages in New York and Los Angeles before moving to Seattle nearly 19 months ago. I've taught stage-acting both on faculty and in workshops at colleges in four states and hosted high school and junior-high-age workshops in several more.
