I hired Ken to teach my mom about water color. She found him very knowledgeable and fun to work with.
Ken was a pleasure to work with. My children really liked all the encouragement he gave them and the painstaking manner in which he taught them the basics of watercolors. They were thrilled when he got them these beautiful roses which he then used as the subject of their drawing class. He worked with them very patiently and tried to get the best out of them. I also appreciated his approach to the big picture of art in general and I am glad he could teach my girls a deeper appreciation for what they love to do. Thank you Ken.
Ken is a very patient art tutor. During the time he spent helping my daughter with her drawing skills, not only did Ken display patience, but an encouraging nature as well. Through drawing exercises, my daughter's skills improved almost immediately as she learned through Ken how to actually "see" objects. Ken's impressive professional background and artistic skills make him a highly qualified tutor.
Ken is a pleasure to work with, positive and specific in his teaching. He's a good listener, interested in the success of the student, and adapted his teaching to my specific goals, providing practical and professional advice along the way.
He was clear before the lesson on how he could help me and his areas of expertise, so I went in with realistic expectations, and left very satisfied. And while my goals (graphic novel) are a bit outside Ken's focus, he still provided valuable and applicable skills and advice, making this tutoring session well worth it. :)
I am also impressed with his artistic talent in drawing, painting and bronze.
I will definitely revisit Ken in the near future! Ken's real world professional experience can help both the beginner and commercially minded student advance. :)
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
