I was born and raised in Western Washington I've always been of good humor and laid back, but when it's time to buckle down and work, make no mistake, I work. When the time to perform has come, the time for preparation has past. I taught English in Japan for two years, as well as some religious classes. It was there that I discovered a personal gift for teaching and how I loved being able to help someone solve their problems. Upon my return to the states, I have taken up teaching Japanese as well, given my fluency.
I've found being able to work with students that truly want to succeed is a great blessing, and I think such great students deserve a great learning experience in return, therefore I do my best to offer that experience. If the student is a bit difficult and wants to challenge me, well then, challenge accepted! Learning is fun, if you let it be so.

I spent two years studying Japanese in high school from a native, and it was there my love for all things Japanese truly awakened. I had the opportunity to serve an additional two years in the country itself, conversing and working with natives daily. I have an exceptional working knowledge of spoken Japanese (grammar, vocabulary, etc.), and would consider myself fair in writing. I love being able to help people understand the true and deeper meanings hidden behind this beautiful language. While in Japan I taught English in Japanese, so making the switch was not very difficult at all. I am currently dual majoring in International Business and Japanese. I am already fluent in Japanese, and easily tested out out of several courses. I would have gone further, but WSU has a cap for that. Make no mistake, no matter what level of Japanese you are at, I can help you.

Whatever your reasons for taking on this difficult language, professional or hobby, it is a cause worth pursuing. Give me a shout and I'll do my best to get your ball rolling on the way to fluency, higher grades, or whatever you feel you need most help with.

I used to live in Japan for two years as a Missionary. As such, I was required to speak fluently and be sensitive to cultural differences and learn how to better communicate with the people around me. I'm also pursuing a double major of International business+Japanese at this time. I've taught many times before in Japan, though there the foreign language was English. However, the principles remain the same.
