About Matthew

I have Master's in Education and I received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in Chemistry. Most of my experience in tutoring is in Math and Science, but can help in a wide variety of subjects. Currently, I teach 8th grade math and Algebra, but I have experience teaching, and tutoring all levels from 6th grade through Calculus.

As a tutor, I can adjust to what is needed for each student. We can work together to set up the best plan for success. As long as there is effort, we can work well together.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 2

I am currently teaching Algebra 2 at the high school level. I tutored for multiple years.

Microsoft Windows

I have been using Windows since Microsoft 3.1. I use it daily at work and home, and have solved many problems for myself and others when setting up computers. I have experience with each version since Microsoft 3.1, but the most recent ones people will be using are Microsoft XP, 7, and 8. I can help with all basic processes and some more advanced usages.

A percise and methodical Turtor — Matthew explains algebraic equations in a understandable language. He is patient with me, as a slower learner. He also understands my learning style. He allows me to work out the problem and come to my own conclusion. He then shows me what I did right and what I need to reconsider, to come out with the desirable outcome. Matthew is a solid tutor. ...
