If you would like someone to help you figure out the concepts, homework, test topics, and get a strong feel for the subject you are taking, I will be able to help. I will work hard for you and efficiently for you to maximize our time together.
Currently, I am doing differential equations, ODEs and PDEs, and linear algebra tutoring. I have tutored over 300 students successfully and have over five years experience teaching math, SAT and ACT math prep, and calculus l, ll, lll, and IV .I have also taught two calculus courses including a differential equations lab. I love learning about math and working with students teaching math.
Thanks for reading and I hope you will consider me to help you with your math studies! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have tutored calculus I, II, III, IV for seven years and have taught two calculus courses.
I have successfully taken 8 credits of differential equations and have taught an ODE class in Spring 2016 and have taken PDEs. I am currently studying SDEs. Here are comments that my differential equations professor wrote for my transcript:
"In differential equations, Jen was an engaged learner, communicating regularly with her faculty and working steadily to learn the material. She turned in only four of the eight homework assignments on time, but she worked assiduously to complete the others, as well as an optional assignment and corrections for each exam, for her portfolio. Jen’s performance on exams improved over the course of the quarter; her first exam was just adequate, but by the final exam, her work nicely showed her learning of the material and some good success in applying her understanding to problems."
I have successfully taken 4 credits of linear algebra and I have also studied linear algebra on my own. Here are comments that my professor wrote for my transcript:
"In multivariable calculus and linear algebra Jen produced good work on her exams, showing her strong grasp of the material and good success in applying those concepts to solve problems. After struggling with the homework in the beginning of the quarter, Jen worked very hard to catch up and was able to finish most of the homework assignments and include them in her portfolio. She regularly asked thoughtful questions, in and outside class."
